A cartoon of you that gets you stretching. It is free.

Every 20 minutes a little cartoon of you pops up on your Mac with a quick desk stretch. Claude Code draws the cartoon from your photo and builds the app for you. About 10 minutes. Works only in Claude Code, on a Mac.

Your Posture Coach

Free, from Joe Che's AI class. Pick the way that suits you. Way 1 is for everyone: download the folder, drop it into Claude Code in the Claude desktop app, and send one message. Way 2 is for people who already use Claude Code in Terminal: paste one line. Either way, Claude asks for a photo of you (or 5 quick questions), shows you your cartoon, then builds the app on your Mac.

Works only in Claude Code, on a Mac. See both ways, step by step. Claude Code is part of the Claude desktop app and needs a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher). It does not work in the normal Claude chat, in ChatGPT or on Windows yet. macOS 13 or newer.

Way 2: paste this into Terminal (Claude Code installed)
claude "$(curl -fsSL 'https://workshop.mastermindshq.business/posture-coach-prompt.txt')"

It nudges. It never nags.

It does not

  • Send anything off your Mac. It reads one small file and keeps your tally on your computer
  • Store your photo. Your Claude only looks at it to pick your cartoon
  • Steal your typing. The card shows up without taking the keyboard
  • Pop up in meetings. One switch holds every stretch until you are out
  • Replace a physio. These are simple desk stretches, not treatment

It does

  • Show a cartoon of you with a quick stretch every 20 minutes (or 15, 30, 45, 60)
  • Time your reps, with a short how-to for each of the 12 moves
  • Start the clock over when you step away from your Mac
  • Time a stretch for while Claude Code is working, if one is due soon anyway
  • Count your stretches for today and the last 7 days

✦ How it works

From photo to stretching in about 10 minutes

The app is a little card that floats at the top right of your screen. The cartoon on it is drawn from a few choices, like your hair, skin tone, beard, glasses and clothes. Claude Code picks those choices from your photo, shows you a preview, and builds the app on your Mac.

What you need

  • A Mac on macOS 13 or newer.
  • Claude Code, with a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher). It comes with the Claude desktop app. The normal Claude chat and ChatGPT cannot build it.
  • Apple's free command line tools. If you don't have them, Claude installs them for you (one click).
  • A photo of yourself, or 2 minutes to answer 5 questions.

Way 1: the easy way (no Terminal)

For everyone. About 10 minutes.

  1. Install the Claude desktop app for Mac from claude.com/download and sign in with your paid plan.
  2. Click "Way 1: download the folder" at the top of this page. You get posture-coach.zip.
  3. In the Claude app, open the Code tab and pick any folder to work in, like your Desktop.
  4. Drag posture-coach.zip into the chat, paste the Way 1 message from "The prompts" below and send it.
  5. When Claude asks, drag in a photo of yourself, or type "describe" and answer 5 quick questions.
  6. Claude shows you a preview of your cartoon in every pose. Say what to change, or say it looks good.
  7. Say yes when Claude asks to run things. Your cartoon appears in the menu bar. Click it, then "Stretch now".

Way 2: Terminal (for Claude Code users)

If you already run Claude Code in Terminal.

  1. Open Terminal (Cmd + Space, type Terminal, press Enter).
  2. Click Copy on the "Way 2" line at the top of this page, paste it into Terminal in one piece and press Enter. It starts Claude Code with the prompt.
  3. Not installed yet? Terminal says "command not found: claude". Install it with curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash, open a new Terminal window, and paste the line again. Or use Way 1.
  4. From here it is the same as Way 1: photo or 5 questions, preview, then Claude builds the app.

Stretch while Claude works

If you say yes, Claude Code tells the app when it starts and stops working. When Claude starts a long task and your next stretch is due within 8 minutes, you get it right then, while you would only be waiting. Switch it off any time in the menu.

The 12 moves

Neck, back, chest, wrists, hips, legs and eyes: chin tucks, neck side stretch, doorway chest stretch, wrist and forearm stretch, a walk around the room and more. Switch off any you do not want.

The files
  • START-HERE-PROMPT.mdThe prompt to paste into Claude Code. The same one is on this page.
  • shared/avatar.jsYour cartoon: hair, skin, beard, glasses, clothes and name. Claude fills it in.
  • shared/preview.htmlShows your cartoon in all 16 poses before you build.
  • shared/moves.jsonThe 12 stretches and what your coach says. Change them if you like.
  • macos/The Mac app, built on your own Mac with Apple's free tools. 68 automatic checks.
  • claude-code/The optional hooks that let it time stretches around Claude Code.

✦ Use it now

The prompts

Way 1: send the first message in the Claude app's Code tab, with posture-coach.zip attached. Way 2: the one line at the top sends the second prompt for you. You can also type claude in Terminal and paste it yourself.

Set up Posture Coach from the folder

Claude unzips the folder and follows the setup inside it: your cartoon, the preview, then the app.

I attached posture-coach.zip. Unzip it into a folder called PostureCoach in my home folder. Then open START-HERE-PROMPT.md inside it and follow every step of the prompt in it. Skip the download step, because I already gave you the zip.

Build my Posture Coach

Claude Code downloads the app, makes your cartoon from a photo or 5 questions, shows you a preview, then builds it on your Mac.

Build me my own Posture Coach: a free Mac app where a cartoon of me pops up every 20 minutes with a quick desk stretch. Go step by step and tell me in plain words what you're doing.

1. Check this is a Mac on macOS 13 or newer (sw_vers). If it isn't, stop and tell me Posture Coach is Mac only for now.

2. Check Apple's free command line tools are installed (xcode-select -p). If they aren't, run xcode-select --install, tell me to click Install in the window that pops up, and wait until I say it's finished.

3. Download https://workshop.mastermindshq.business/posture-coach.zip and unzip it into a folder called PostureCoach in my home folder.

4. Make my cartoon. Ask me: "Want your coach to look like you? Drag a photo of yourself into this window and press Enter, or type 'describe' and I'll ask you 5 quick questions."
   - With a photo: look at it and pick my look using ONLY the options listed at the top of shared/avatar.js: skin colour, hair style and hair colour, beard, glasses, the colour of clothes I'd usually wear, and shirt style. Then ask me what name the coach should show (my first name is fine).
   - With 'describe': ask me one at a time about my hair (style and colour), skin tone, beard or no beard, glasses or not, and my favourite colour to wear. Then the name.
   - Write my choices into shared/avatar.js. Keep the comment block at the top, use only the listed options, and colours as #RRGGBB. Don't copy or save my photo anywhere.
   - Run: open shared/preview.html (it shows my cartoon in every stretch pose). Ask me if I'm happy with it. If I want changes, update avatar.js and open the preview again, until I say it looks good.

5. Before you build it, read README.md, macos/build.sh and claude-code/install-hooks.sh, and tell me in two or three sentences what they do. Then run: bash macos/build.sh
If the build fails, read the error, fix only what's needed to make it build, and run it again. Don't change what the app does.

6. Ask me: "Do you want your coach to time your stretches around Claude Code? You'll get a stretch while Claude is working, if one is due soon anyway." If I say yes, run: bash claude-code/install-hooks.sh

7. Finish by telling me:
   - My cartoon's little face is now in my menu bar at the top right. Click it, then "Stretch now" to see a stretch straight away.
   - Ctrl+Option+P gives the card the keyboard. Enter starts a stretch, S snoozes, X skips.
   - Turn on "Open at login" in the menu if I want my coach every day.
   - To change my cartoon later: edit shared/avatar.js in the PostureCoach folder (or ask Claude to) and run bash macos/build.sh again.
   - How to remove it: quit from the menu, delete "Posture Coach" from Applications, and run bash claude-code/install-hooks.sh --remove if I turned on Claude Code mode.

Only touch the PostureCoach folder, the app in Applications, and (if I said yes) the hooks in ~/.claude/settings.json. The app itself never sends data anywhere.

✦ Get unstuck

Stuck? Find your line.

I am on Windows or my phone

Posture Coach is Mac only for now. Send yourself this page and open it on a Mac with Claude Code.

It says "command not found: claude"

Claude Code is not installed in your Terminal. Easiest fix: use Way 1 in the Claude desktop app instead. Or install it with curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash, open a new Terminal window and paste the line again.

The Terminal line gives an error

Use the Copy button and paste the line in one piece. If it gets split over two lines, or a space goes missing (like curl-fsSL), it fails. Or use Way 1.

Can I use the normal Claude chat or ChatGPT?

No. It has to build an app on your Mac, so it only works in Claude Code: the Code tab of the Claude desktop app, or Claude Code in Terminal. Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher).

A window pops up about command line tools

Click Install and wait a few minutes. Then tell Claude Code it is finished and it carries on.

The cartoon does not look like me

Tell Claude what to change, like "my hair is longer" or "warmer skin tone". It updates your cartoon and opens the preview again. You can change it later too: ask Claude to edit shared/avatar.js and rebuild.

I do not see it in the menu bar

On a full menu bar, macOS hides some icons. Close a few menu bar apps, or open Posture Coach from Applications and it shows its card.

Two pop-ups at once

You may have another stretch app running. Quit the one you do not want from its menu.

How do I remove it?

Quit it from the menu and delete Posture Coach from Applications. If you turned on the Claude Code option, run bash claude-code/install-hooks.sh --remove in the PostureCoach folder.

None of these fixed it

You came for one piece of my Claude Code setup. If you have your own website, the next useful job for that setup is getting the site found.

Get your website listed on Google and Bing so people (and ChatGPT) can find you by your name and your service. ChatGPT finds websites mostly through Bing, so we tell Bing about you too. Your own Claude Code does the work on your computer, one prompt at a time.

  • What it does: sets up Google and Bing, your Google Business Profile, posts that answer real customer questions, and a monthly check.
  • What usually happens: your site shows up when people search your name or business name within a few weeks.
  • What it cannot promise: ranking for competitive searches like "best X near me". That takes months of steady posts.
  • You need a website in a folder Claude Code can open, Node.js 20 or newer, and a free Google account. It is not for Squarespace or Wix sites.
