Before Session One

Prep Requirements

Complete these three steps before Session One. Total time: about 10 minutes. We will handle all the technical setup together during the live session.

Claude Pro Account

Required

What it is: Claude Pro is the paid version of Claude AI. It is required to use Claude Code, which is the tool we use to build your website during the session. The free version of Claude does not include Claude Code access.

Claude Pro costs $20 per month. You can cancel any time.

  1. Go to claude.ai/upgrade
  2. Sign in or create a free Claude account if you do not have one
  3. Click “Upgrade to Pro” and complete the payment
  4. Confirm you can log in to your Claude account before the session

Note

Claude Pro is enough for this session. If you get into heavy daily use later, there is a higher-tier plan available but you do not need it now.

Create a Vercel Account

Required

What it is: Vercel is the platform that puts your website on the internet. At the end of Session Two, you will run one command and Vercel will give you a live URL you can share with anyone. It is completely free.

  1. Go to vercel.com/signup
  2. Sign up with Google (recommended — one click if you are already logged into Gmail) or with your email and a password
  3. If you signed up with email, check your inbox and click the verification link
  4. Make sure your email is verified before the session — Vercel requires this before you can go live

The free plan covers everything you need. Unlimited projects, unlimited deployments, and custom domain support — all at no cost.

What it is: A short welcome video that walks you through what to expect in Session One and how to get the most out of the workshop. Watch it before we go live.
